Student life at UT2J

Published on August 26, 2024 Updated on August 26, 2024

With an average of over 200 events a year on the various campuses and with our cultural partners, there's always something going on at UT2J.

The gateway to a fulfilling student life at UT2J!

Alongside the International Relations and study departments, the E.I.M.A (Erasmus International Mirail Association) is responsible for welcoming, helping and integrating international students ( both Erasmus and non-Erasmus) on UT2J campuses. Initiated by a group of students with the support of the University's International Relations Department, it has since been managed by volunteer students, many of them former Erasmus students. The association has an office (AR 101) on the second floor of l'Arche, where members are on duty daily (10.30am - 4pm). The association's office is above all a convivial place where many students get to know each other and meet over a cup of tea or coffee.
In addition to EIMA, you'll find over 50 student associations, mainly housed in the Maison des Initiatives Étudiantes (aka M.I.E., House of Student Initiatives), focusing on sports, culture, health prevention and commitment in various forms...
Most information on student life is available via the ENT. You can also follow the UT2J Instagram account to stay informed in real time!

What to do at UT2J (outside the classroom)?

  • Where to eat?
The campuses of the Université Toulouse - Jean Jaurès offer several catering solutions in partnership with CROUS (the main official public organization in charge of housing and catering for students in France). To eat at CROUS, you can use the Izly application to make payments or recharge your student card. Food and beverage vending machines and food trucks are also generally available on campus.

  • Culture
UT2J has its own cultural showroom and exhibition space - La Fabrique - with a wide and varied program open to all, throughout the student year. Music, screenings, shows, performances, exhibitions, festivals... there's always something going on. Off campus, UT2J is also a partner of the Cinémathèque de Toulouse, the Théâtre Garonne, the Metronum and the Cave Poésie. The Bibliothèque Universitaire Centrale (BUC) and its various resource centers also offer regular events and activities (follow them on Instagram).

  • Getting in shape
UT2J has its own sports department - SUAPS - as well as various facilities on the Mirail campus (including its Gymnasium). 35 competitive and non-competitive sports activities are offered throughout the year. What's more, depending on the season, SUAPS regularly organizes mountain hikes, ski/snowboard sessions (Pyrenees) and windsurfing trips (Mediterranean Sea). SUAPS aims to contribute to the success, integration, health and overall well-being of its students. And it's all... free of charge.

  • Explore
Every year, UT2J's cultural department organizes “cultural tours” to discover the jewels of the Occitanie region, accompanied by university researchers. Events not to be missed!

  • Assistance
Throughout the year, a number of preventive health initiatives and initiatives to combat precariousness (financial, food....) take place on campus, with the aim of making study conditions as good as possible.

  • Living!
Toulouse is regularly ranked as one of the best cities in France in which to study. A student city “par excellence”, it is also consistently in the top 100 “Best Student Cities” published by QS (along with Paris, Lyon and Montpellier).
